We are so pleased to share with you some exciting updates on our Empower Her project.

As a result of your kindness and generosity, to date we have managed to raise an astounding £1,232,406.15 to help provide even more girls with the basic right to education.

But that’s not all...

…thanks to the UK Aid Match programme, most of the donations were matched and so we have been able to secure an additional £1,125,137.08 of match funding from the UK Government, bringing the total amount raised to a massive £2,357,543.23!

With this money, READ Foundation will be specifically targeting areas where there are challenges to girls attending school. We are proud to be able to extend our project beyond our original plans.

The project will now be able to provide access to quality education for around 3,600 girls in four districts of Pakistan, within Gilgit-Baltistan and Sindh.

In addition, 120 Community Based Accelerated Learning Schools will now be formed, 120 female teachers will be trained, and 14 formal READ Foundation schools will also be established.
