A council of respected Islamic scholars actively guides our Zakat policy. Every field in this calculator aligns with mainstream Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali positions.
We don't claim a "100% donation policy" — because no charity building sustainable projects that last generations honestly can. We'd rather earn your trust with honesty.
Scholar-Verified Formula
Enter your assets and liabilities below. Results appear instantly once you press Calculate.
Add up all your liquid and semi-liquid assets — cash, gold, silver, stocks, crypto, business inventory, and any debts you're owed that you reasonably expect to receive back.
Subtract any personal and business debts that are currently due. If a debt won't be due for another year, most scholars allow it to be deducted only on a month-by-month basis.
Your net zakatable wealth must equal or exceed the Nisab — equivalent to 595g of silver at current market rates. If it does, Zakat is due.
Multiply your net zakatable assets by 2.5% (or 1/40). This is your Zakat due. It should be paid once per lunar year — ideally as soon as you calculate it.
